about Palin - Enough! I'm Still Blown Away by Obama's Acceptance Speech!! - a Great Song that...
...just keeps getting better & every time you hear it & see the video...

It's also a book you can't put down, even after you've read and reread it...

Let's not let a big election be lost on small things.

Please keep Obama's commitment up front.

1. I swear, the convention is taped by my Cable box on my big screen TV
Born in the USA, Yeah! (even if I wasn't)

4. I saw French folks waving the American Flag when Obama visited...
There's a new thing happening here. America is about to lead again by "the power of its example -- not the example of its power."

2. Thank you for this thread.
I've been watching "O" speak for a while cuz he was my guy from the beginning. But this speech was amazing even to me as a long-time watcher because he nailed its delivery and more importantly the points so perfectly. I loved Tweety's "attack from a defended position" line because that's exactly what "O" did. It was great.

Let's not forget that Palin or no Palin, McNutjob still has to put up or shut up this week. Americans of both political persuasions were really impressed with Obama's speech, so unless McWar channels Reagan himself all the Palin's in the world won't cover his ineptitude.

7. You're welcome...
I love this country more than I can put into words. I'm unspeakably grateful that Barack transparently expressed his dissent as what it is -- allegiance to America's founding principles (and laws).

9. All of the above & more...
Hear the song again, read the book again -- and work from your heart. Obama got it right; it's not about him -- it's about us.

5. David Gergen's comment
after the speech -
"it was like a symphony." He was blown away.

He really did lift the country up!

6. ALL speeches that night were inspiring
Richardson, Gore, Obama, even the "little people" who came out to tell
why they were voting Democratic, especially the ones who had voted
Republican all their lives--until now.

"I want a president who will put Barney Smith before Smith Barney"

How is Lieberman gonna top THAT?

12. Ha! That was one of my favorite speaches!...
Barney Smith is an Obamacan (Republican for Obama).

Posessing no speaking skills -- he stood up there in a plaid/flannel shirt & delivered one of the greatest zingers I ever heard!

I was alone in my living room, laughing my ass off!

13. Barack was pretty much drafted. After his '04 keynote speech, he stumped for other candidates...
...and gained a following everywhere he went. He was exhorted by the public time after time to run for president. A confidante told him that some candidates choose their time to run, but sometimes the time chooses the candidate.

Barack got it.

From his ideas about the economy to international affairs...
but the thing that stands above all, for me, is HOW he leads.
Barack leads by example and he challenges our thinking and
our beliefs in a ways that inspire us and bring us together.
It's hard to put in words without sounding all mamby-pamby...
but Barack Obama energizes us with his approach...
kinda like Braveheart charging ahead.. he's among us, he's with us,
he's giving us new ideas and busting down old barriers,
and he does it all with a smile and a spark in his eye.
He's someone you'd want to be on your side all the time...

and you know there is deep goodness in his heart.
