Ok, now I'm 100% sure that McCain/Palin is going down

I've long used Camille Paglia as a kind of reverse touchstone for the American psyche.

If Camille says something, you can usually take it to the bank that the truth is exactly 180 degrees opposite of whatever she has postulated.

Her first, breathless comments on Palin:

"We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am reeling,” said Camille Paglia, the cultural critic. “That was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician. Palin is as tough as nails.”

That's great news.

We can relax.

If Camille is infatuated with her, the ticket is toast.

She's made a career on being a contrarian. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself as long as one maintains intellectual honesty. She's the type of intellectual that would argue with herself if she thought it would fill a room or gain or a bit more notoriety.

Both Sarah and Camille suffer from the same malady: Queen Bee Syndrome. They are hyper-competitive women who want to aggrandize themselves, under the construct of the Patriarchy. They are "exceptional". Sarah is a gun lovin' hunter and Camille is a rape apoligizin' so-called feminist. I suspect that the two of them would find much to bond over. Both of them exult in the approval they get from men. :puke:

I can't stand her. She has several screws loose.

For most others, I'd throw off the comment about the best political speech given by a woman as simple ignorance. In her case, it's intellectual dishonesty, a trait I believe follows much of her career.

I agree with your assessment. She has a remarkable ability to be wrong on just about everything.
