Palin enjoys a 90% approval rate in her Republican dominated state???? Well that was true when she came into office, after a contest when she ran against an unpopular opponent, but as our Alaskan blogger notes, currently she's dropped to a 67% favorable rating. That is partly due to Troopergate, but also has to do with other 'executive' decisions she's made since she won her present office.

For instance, she is currently in the middle of "a controversial gas pipeline project in Alaska." She gave Canada $500 million US tax dollars to pursue studies for a 'Trans Canada' pipeline which, as Mud Flats put it, "in effect would ship US jobs over the border. Many Alaskans, including former governors, have favored the 'All Alaska Route'" which would keep those jobs at home. ( http://www.adn.com/news/politics/story/510249.html )

That doesn't sound too mavericky to me. It sounds like the same old GOP, corporation friendly outsourcing policies that have shipped good paying work overseas and have been forcing working class Americans all over the country into low paying service jobs.
