1. Two polls show most Hillary supporters and women are offended by the pick
2. Moderates are disgusted that McCain would treat the VP pick as a gimmick instead of picking someone highly qualified for the job.
3. It doesn't look like she was vetted very strongly and has some problems including ripping on Hillary, poorly running the town she was the mayor of and her ethics investigation.
4. Obama picking Biden compared to McCain picking Palin makes Obama look like Obama is taking this serious and McCain like he could run the Government like Bush did. Obama comes across looking mature and well reasoned and McCain looks like he could make reckless decisions that are not well thought out.
5. McCain's age and cancer risk are causing people to fear ending up with someone with almost no experience.
6. Palin undercuts McCain's line of attack that Obama is not ready to lead.

The only plus for McCain is Palin will make a few Fundies happy.

Looks like McCain fucked up on a huge decision. Following Obama's awesome performance, this is not a good week for McCain. I think McSame is in big trouble now.

2. It will be a bad choice if voters realize how faulty John McCain's decision making is.
But if all they see is "She's a woman!" or "She has nice boobs", then who knows.

30. From his first ad against Obama...
...to this, it has been one bone headed decision after another. His competence is severely lacking.

20. That would be great if she were replaced
thus showing the Repugs to be indecisive and even less serious about the election.

4. In their first executive decisions: Obama passed, McCain failed - massively.
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 10:01 PM by redqueen
Add that to the string of examples of McMansion's bad judgment calls Obama outlined in his speech...

It's like Christmas has come early.

7. Tell me with a straight face that Palin is more qualified than
Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Liddy Dole, Olympia Snowe, or Sue Collins.

Transparently obvious that someone saw Obama's speech on thursday and
said "Oh s***! We have to do something to take the attention
away from that"...Pawlenty got axed, and they threw in the
bimbo.

She will be at very best, a wash.

Other then that I agree with everything you said; I am concerned her draw might take in more then just a few, even those who don't believe women should be active in politics.

Ran into a man today while doing voter registration who was picking a fight on the Palin thing -- I got a few points across, but this is just what I needed running through my head in order to think quick on my feet.

19. Once the RW euphoria wears off and the weakness of this ticket becomes

obvious to the boardroom Repubs who run the show,
you will hear the resounding slap of Repug wallets
slapping shut.

Mc Cain is only good for one term, if that, leaving
Palin with the bull pen advantage for the nomination
in 2012.

Wall St and K Street will never stand still for that.

22. This bimbo is a ticking bomb
once the story of her Dominionist connections come out, everyone not on the fringe right is going to run in the opposite direction and wonder if Grampy McShits has finally had his mental meltdown. Ms Palin has close ties to the apocalyptic fundies who want to torch the planet in order to bring Jeebus back faster. As in nuclear war, if necessary. Praizzz Jeebus!

Despite what people may think, Biden would slice her into smithereens with a smile. She is out of her league.
