3. Our candidates are out in Ohio today talking about the issues.
They are not stressing over gossip or obsessing over what the opposition will do next. Dems will win in November! We have full fledged ideas and the talent to inspire on our ticket. We have NOTHING to fear from the Republicon team. Obama-Biden will help us be the Ones We Have Been Waiting For! :dem: :dem: :dem:

9. Trust me: their campaign staff *is* obsessing
They're combing through everything and figuring out what can be used directly. what can be used indirectly, what the campaign should stay away from, and what should be watched to see if it has legs. Then they're taking the useful stuff and figuring out who should put it out there, when, and how.

We're not the candidates. We're not even acting as an official part of the campaign, at least not when we're here. The candidates have to take the high road. Surrogates traceable to the campaign can go further, depending upon who they are. The "blogosphere" is best when we responsibly take advantage of our freedom to research and explore topics the campaign can't be seen as involved in -- i.e., what we discuss/investigate/etc. should be approximately the same as what the campaign watches, to see where it goes.

I don't think any of us should make crap up (like the Republicans do) or take things out of context and spit them into the echo chamber (like the Republicans do). In fact I'd be very angry if I saw anyone doing that, not because it's politically inopportune to be seen doing it (we're not the campaign), but because it is wrong, and there's no point in fighting the Republican agenda if we adopt the ways of that agenda. But research every bit of crap we can find on the opposition? That's perfectly fine. Trust me, there are people in Chicago doing just that, right now.

10. Well said.
I don't disagree with a single thing in your post; I think I just spent too much time on here yesterday. I followed all the links on the baby story and just got tired of it all. Research it all, you bet. Act lke Republicans? No thanks. :)
