I think the situation is getting dire. I'm not the only one who's posted that this PUMA narrative stinks to high heaven as a setup for when the exit polls won't match the official poll numbers. Remember the 2004 "values voters" shocker?

Seriously, folks.

2. Sorry - they were requested in the 2004 election
Seems the USA does not meet the minimum U.N. standards required.

At least that is the answer I got here at D.U.

wish we could contact Jimmy Carter as I know he spent a good deal of time monitoring elections with the U.N. and see what he has to say about it

Addressing the Challenges of Observing New Voting Technologies

The increasing use of new electronic voting technologies in elections around the world is one of the paramount challenges facing election observation. The Carter Center has embarked on a two-year initiative to develop an effective methodology for observing such elections. The Center published a draft methodology in October 2007, and plans to further improve it bycreating checklists to guide observers, developing a short training program for core team staff on the use of electoral checklists and forms, and conducting two further targeted observation missions focused specifically on the use of electronic voting.

3. Also, we need to disenfranchise all the electronic voting machines as
not up standards and unreliable, forcing those precincts to hand out paper ballots that are hand marked and counted. I don't know who has the evidence to present to the SOS's of all the states and territories to get a judgement on doing just this but it seems to me there should be enough legal minds on our side of the election issue to know how to get this done.
