4. Actually I think that is veneer on what is essentially a last desperate ploy on

the part of big oil. Big oil is the one calling the shots on just about everything in the last 8 years. Certainly they have been in the driving seat before that but the rise in a strong renewed call for alternatives and the fact that foreign car companies now make a variety of more energy efficient auto's (and American car companies have nothing left to do but follow).

These powerful companies have had to so good for so long they need all the charlatans that can lay their hands on.

Still, this political development disgusts me as much as Katrina.
