Hat tip to FLA Politics for this interesting little tidbit.

GOP disenfranchises Florida!!!

I look forward to the media slamming the bejesus out of the GOPers for disenfranchising Florida: "The Republican National Committee today made its penalties stick against South Carolina, New Hampshire, Florida and Michigan for holding primaries earlier than rules allowed. RNC credentials committee member and South Carolina state Rep. Alan Clemmons said that those states all lost half their delegates by holding primaries too early. That cut the size of delegations and influence those states have in picking the GOP nominee."

"GOP Upholds Delegate Penalties Against States".

Just a little sarcasm in that comment...doubt it will get any coverage at all.

More on the topic.

GOP Upholds Delegate Penalties Against States

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Republican National Committee today made its penalties stick against South Carolina, New Hampshire, Florida and Michigan for holding primaries earlier than rules allowed.

RNC credentials committee member and South Carolina state Rep. Alan Clemmons said that those states all lost half their delegates by holding primaries too early. That cut the size of delegations and influence those states have in picking the GOP nominee.

Democrats sanctioned Michigan and Florida for holding primaries too early. But the Democratic National Committee relented Sunday and restored those states' full delegate voting rights. "I think Republican are more accustomed to following the rules," Clemmons quipped.

South Carolina Republicans don't mind losing the delegates. State GOP Chairman Katon Dawson said he was more than willing to give up delegate counts to keep the Palmetto State's status as the nation's first primary in the South.

In contrast the DNC restored full voting rights to Florida and Michigan, and it gave them almost the best seats in the house.

It's really turned into a Palin board. Everything else is forgotten entirely.

3. Barack petitioned the DNC to restore full voting rights to FL and MI.
Conversely, the GOP has chosen discipline over a "feel good" resolution.

It is absolutely mind-boggling that restoring full voting rights and giving FL and MI prime real estate on the convention floor doesn't seem to be enough for some Democrats.

Herding cats. Oy.

K&R for some interesting perspective.

4. I can not decide if it's funny or just plain weird.
The whole situation, that is.

Florida Republicans have never made a peep about the rules.

Florida Democratic leaders are still calling for the ouster of their chairman. For following rules they themselves voted for.

It's quite amazing, really. I feel like laughing, but it turns into tears for what could have been for Florida Democrats. Terrible weather here today, gloomy, rainy. And the utter inanity of it all is getting to me.

5. This shouldn't be a surprise, Rethuglicons don't like to COUNT votes
but I thought they only like to disenfranchise Democratic votes.

I just HOPE they LOSE these states votes come November.

8. Thank you, Republicans.
I don't expect the msm to cover it... we have to get the word out ourselves. It works!

Pass it on. :)

13. Just those states wouldn't affect that issue, would it?
I had not thought about that. Those supporters will be a real issue for the GOP.
