Did CNN Political Dir. Tom Hannon attend Council for National Policy meet?
From today's New York Times, re. the Council for National Policy:

Club of the Most Powerful Gathers in Strictest Privacy
By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK

Published: August 28, 2004

Three times a year for 23 years, a little-known club of a few hundred of the most powerful conservatives in the country have met behind closed doors at undisclosed locations for a confidential conference, the Council for National Policy, to strategize about how to turn the country to the right.

Details are closely guarded.

"The media should not know when or where we meet or who takes part in our programs, before of after a meeting," a list of rules obtained by The New York Times advises the attendees.

The membership list is "strictly confidential." Guests may attend "only with the unanimous approval of the executive committee." In e-mail messages to one another, members are instructed not to refer to the organization by name, to protect against leaks....

According to this link, a Tom Hannon attended Council for National Policy meetings in '84 and '85:

Question: Is this the same Tom Hannon who is CNN's Political Director? Does anyone know of another Tom Hannon who might be considered part of a right-wing "elite"? Does anyone know anything about CNN's Tom Hannon? (I have Googled Hannon before, and not found very much that sheds much light on him.)

7. Here's the CNN 2004 team, including Hannon and Sam Feist
The page linked has short bios of the on-air people -- Wolf, Candy, AEI Schneider, and Judy -- and these two behind-the-scenes:

Tom Hannon
Tom Hannon is CNN’s political director and senior executive producer for the network’s campaign and election coverage. Based in the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau, Hannon coordinates all facets of CNN’s daily political coverage. In that capacity, he is senior executive producer of Inside Politics, the network’s hour-long daily political news program, and he is also senior executive producer of CNN’s coverage of general elections, major primaries and caucuses, debates and national party conventions.

Sam Feist
Sam Feist is the senior executive producer of political programming for CNN/U.S. Feist oversees political programming, including Inside Politics and Crossfire, as well as political segments and the production of political specials such as primary nights, conventions and election nights.

9. I doubt he'd be stupid enough to go lately. The fact that he's a wingnut
is big enough.
