34. HAnna won't be nearly as bad as Gustav, and may miss the US.
It was the money, count on it.

Oh, and htere's another wave off the coast of Africa that has a high potential of becoming a hurricane. Might make it her in a week to ten days

Last time I saw one like this one ended up being named Andrew.

Just to show "they cared". Bullshit.

16. Close.
If it follows the course of the DNC Convention. Michelle, Clinton and Biden all spoke here (MST) at 8:00, which would be 10:00 EST.

26. I'm guessing yes.
I pray this hurricane doesn't touch land and there is minimal damage, but watching Bush give his speech with a split screen of the hurricane hitting would be damning.

28. Apparently those pumps they installed to
pump the water from those levees are faulty.

This is going to be ugly. I truly hope that the thing just stalls out, that everyone left new orleans.

I hope there is zero loss of life.

21. I'm not sure, I try not to pay that much attention to them...
but this brings back all of the feelings I had prior to Katrina. I remember the day it was to hit, sitting in my car at work, on my laptop, knowing that it would be a catastrophic storm. I never dreamed it would be as bad as it was, but living in Florida, I was so thankful that we had dogged that bullet.

I fear for the people now in the Gulf Coast region. My thoughts and heart go out to them. This could be really bad.

20. They have figured out a way to "work" the situation to their advantage in some fashion
ala McCain stepping up re:Georgia while O was on vacation. They've got a "stra-te-gerey" in place.

15. Despicable
Of course, I would criticize them anyway if they postponed it, as shamelss pandering. ;)

Kind of like the McCain campaign's handling of the Obama non-visit to wounded soldiers in Germany. They had an attack plan A if he didn't visit them, and an attack plan B if he did.

that they can somehow, in their mind, turn it to their advantage. Maybe McLame will fly down there, speak from NO on the big screen, looking Presidential. Somehow they feel they can work it.
