Joke Line is right, for once:

the Palin pick reflects the most dangerous tendencies in McCain's foriegn policy--the tendency to react, to overreact, to crises, without thinking it through. It also reflects a defiant, adolescent "screw you" attitude toward governance.

THIS is what we need to put out there. He chose a foreign policy illiterate to be his VP, after building his whole campaign on foreign policy cred. After claiming country must come first. Why? Because he threw a tantrum, that's why. It's as though he's telling the Base, you want her, you got her, even though she undermines the entire premise of my campaign. Cutting off his nose to spite his face. Is this really the type of temperament we want guiding the free world? I think not. Blaming Palin is fruitless. Ir's like blaming the runt of the litter for being the runt. It's McCain we need to skewer for this--he betrayed his own principles, once again, for political gain.

I have my doubts.

3. I do too.
If she faked the pregnancy she is absolute toast -

I wonder if the Enquirer has opened up their check book yet.

Once they get on it then it will go on and on.

10. Is the Enquirer actually investigating her?
Somehow, I think they prefer investigating Dems.

9. Bill Maher joked about it last night.
He mentioned the five children including an infant who looks like John Edwards.

5. Possibly true
I spoke with conservative friends in recent weeks who threw out names that would energize the base (them). Colin Powell and Romney were at the top of the list, and they were less than happy with McCain by himself.

Perhaps this is a case of McCain over-ruling the mentors in his campaign, to his own detriment.

Remember when his campaign had to say he "didn't speak for the campaign"? Then he had to refer his real estate holdings to "his campaign"? I think we'll later learn that he's been a loose cannon, and his own campaign's worst enemy.

6. I think he may have gotten pissed and given in to them.
A candidate that the Base loves! I think he got fed up with it (I really do think he wanted Lieberman) and just gave in to them. I think he is probably sitting in one of his ten homes right now regretting his lack of fortitude. He screwed his own basis for running with this choice. Foreign policy my ass.
