Here is what the Palin pick has done for one voter
my mother is an independent liberal who supportered Hillary but refused to vote for Obama, even after the convention (which she refused to watch). Then McCain picked Palin. Now she is going from, "I will definately not vote in this election" to "After seeing McCain's judgment and how he doesn't have the best interests of the Country at heart, I may have to reluctantly vote for Obama".

Way to go McSame :applause:

5. I haven't talked to my mom since the pick.
She voted for Bush twice and said this time she was voting straight Dem. However, Palin is right up her alley. She kind of has that phoney church lady look my mom loves, along with being anti-choice, and I am afraid she may vote Republican. Even when she said she'd vote straight Dem, I doubted her because she is a major fundie, and isn't really playing with a full deck these days.

my grandmother who had even made racist statements about Obama has now said since McCain chose Palin she would be voting for Obama. she said she found the pick insulting. she vote for Hillary in the primary.

i have a feeling Palin may be causing this same reaction with alot of women, even non-democrats

8. I firmly believe that a large portion of independents
are centrist (conservative in some things, liberal in others) and have a mixed bag of political and social beliefs that don't fall in line with any specific party...

And what the Dems must do is brand this repuke ticket as what it is - the FAR RIGHT LUNATIC FRINGE bent on continuing to lurch the country so far to the right that it becomes a dystopic, totalitarian society (and sadly, we're almost there right now).

9. Palin is the complete opposite of Hillary
If he thought he was going to pick up votes from disgruntled Hillary supporters by picking Palin he is sadly mistaken. I loved Hillary because she worked hard and stood for what I believed in not because she was a woman. There's no way in hell Hillary's supporters will vote for McCain after this pick.

10. I have a relative who is a stauch republican but she also loves wolves

Someone who supports shooting wolves from the air at the very least will keep her from voting McCain. She also likes Biden and wishes he were at the top of the ticket.

11. And my husband, a lifelong Republican...
Who was worried McCain would pick Romney, when I told him about McCain's pick was livid. He said "I liked McCain because of his experience. How can I vote for him based on that now? This says a lot about his judgment. I thought he was smarter than that. My ballot is going into the trash".

Well, those are some of the things he said that I could actually post. :-)
