To think that this pick would sway those that admire and previously supported an accomplished, intelligent woman like Hillary makes my blood boil.

This is a slap in the face to women. Yet it's politics as usual for the GOP! Palin is the Harriet Meyers of this election - an unqualified loyalist (& extremist). This nomination just makes me think of the fact that the dozen or so African-Americans that belong to the Repub party all seem to be their spokespeople now! If McCain wanted a woman he could have chosen someone like Olympia Snowe or Kay Bailey Hutchinson who at least have the qualifications to be Vice President (I am not saying they would be good Vice Presidents as I don't believe that, but their resumes would at least be fitted to the position.) Instead of choosing a qualified woman though he chose the beauty pageant winner who has no experience, but at least Republican men can have a pin-up girl as their Vice President. It really is an insult to women.

... but I definitely think McCain's insulting disregard for the intellect of voters, especially female voters, is a whole truckload more relevant an issue in this election than any DU post could ever be.
