I think McCain picked Palin to take all the hits and be his human shield.
The heat over housegate was getting too rough, so he wanted to throw the MSM some fresh chum.

Poor Sarah Palin. She should have turned him down, but I have a feeling she had no idea what she was getting in to.

2. Yes, it is as a distraction, but it is also to solidify his base. She knows exactly what she is
doing, and do NOT feel sorry for "poor sarah palin", and buchanan supporter in 1996-1999, and also a forbes supporter

She is an extremely dangerous person

4. She obviously thought it was a ridiculous notion for him to pick her.
I still think she was overwhelmed by the honor and simply said yes.

3. the republicans are already hiding behind her skirt ...
... suggesting that any criticism of her lack of experience equals an attack against women. That is so patently ridiculous the MSM types ought to question this line of bullshit. But so far, they haven't, on shows I've seen.

6. It was a panic pick

Laughable, desperate, and evil. I kind of suspected something was coming when they were unusually silent right after Obama's acceptance speech. I'm pleased that both Obama and Clinton both seem to realize that McCain's still the evil fuck who'll be dancing to the Republican machine's tune for the next four years, and that he should and must still bear the brunt of our attacks. Sarah Palin ought to be ashamed for letting herself be used in such a manner, but I refuse to let her distract me.

9. Don't feel sorry for her. Obviously she has a lot of ambition, which every intelligent person knows
can be dangerous.
