Recently , on Hardball, Chris Matthews interviewed Retired Admiral William Schachte. The interview was very derogatory towards Senator John Kerry, and in the interview, Admiral Schachte called the Senator a liar regarding his first purple heart.

Mr. Matthews did NOT point out the following informationm, for the viewers.

Admiral Schachte is employed by the law firm of Blank and Rome.

A member of the Board of Directors of Blank and Rome is Mr. David A Norcross, who, coincidentally is the Chairman of the 2004 Republican National Convention's Committee on Arrangements.

In addition, Admiral Schachte's record of donations shows that he has made many personal donations to several different REPUBLICAN candidates, including George W. Bush, Lindsey Grahan as well as the Republican Party of South Carolina, itself.

I am enclosing the web site addresses for verification of my comments.

Please ensure that this information is releases on MSNBC, NBC News and given to Chris Matthews so that he can make mention of it on his Hardball program next week, during the Republican Convention.

4. One Problem with this

It was Lisa Myers that did the interview, not Chris Mathews. Yes the clip appeared on Hardball, but Mathews did not do the actual interview.

Might seem like a small point, but it could be important to someone at MSNBC reading the complaint and trying to judge its credibility.

Lisa Myers is an NBC employee, so her hit piece is most likely airing on NBC too. Those taped "interviews" are usually aired on network and cable.
