1. nope.
But, for conservative Christians and libertarians it's exciting to them and it's working.

I don't think mccain is trying to get your vote.

... lots of laughs for both men & women.

My guess she will be like Tom Eagleton and be "dumped" PDQ.

3. She is not for any of your issues.
So I guess the Palin candidacy offers us nothing. So according to her:
No rights for women to have equal pay for equal work.
No abortion even in cases of incest or rape.
No increased child care credits.
No increased family medical leave.
No sweeping health care reform.
No marriage rights for our gay and lesbian Americans.
Now if we could just get this information about her out in the media!!! LOL!

4. She offers you something of each of those issues
which is to say, she will insure you don't get equal pay for equal work, you will have no reproductive rights, there will be no child care credits, no gamily medical leave and zero health care reform.

Don't even ask about civil marriage rights.

9. Was just watching MSNBC and Joe Watkins just said, basically, that
the fact that Pallin is a woman is the only reason you need to vote for her. Seriously, this was his argument to the statement that Pallin was anti-everything-Hillary-believes. He said that Hillary voters will vote for her because she's a woman and will break the glass ceiling.

They aren't even pretending that this isn't why she's on the ticket.

26. check this out from the Anchorage Daily News re her Vogue photos
She's well suited for the magazine, attractive as she is accomplished. The 43-year-old Palin's high cheekbones could rival any runway model's; she's well-dressed, and often wears her brown hair with gold highlights fashionably swept up.

fashionably swept up hair? Is that the style in Alaska these days?

17. From One Woman to Another?
Well, if you are a Soccer or Hockey mom - she brings that 'commonality' to the table.

I'm a single woman living in NJ, no kids, never married, same education and degrees as that woman, avid European vacationer (prefer St. Tropez as an annual juant), who likes wine tastings, my Cuisinart coffee maker, and Spanish Tapas Bars.

So for me? It's the commonality in education only. Except I went to a much better University (how me to be an elite snob) than she did.

20. The Democrats are doing pretty well analyzing this pick...
I've just been watching a bit of MSNBC this morning, and they interviewed Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). The gist of what she said is that she didn't know a lot about Palin initially, and much of the Republican leadership didn't really know her either. She seems like a charming person, but on the issues, she is in agreement with McCain. She emphasized the opposition to equal pay, in particular, but basically said that this ticket economically appeals to the wealthiest, and not to the average American.

I think, and I hope, that this is the Democratic strategy for handling the rest of the election season. They've been very clear that they aren't attacking McCain and Palin on their character (questioning judgment is a separate matter, and one that I think is absolutely relevant). The Democrats that are being interviewed are clearly stating that the problem with this ticket, both before and after Palin was announced, is their policies. And that's when they address your question--they're clear about the fact that this ticket does not offer any of the things that Sen. Clinton offers.

I think that there are a few people who will, at least temporarily, be swayed by the fact that she's female. But anyone who actually knows her position on women's issues will see immediately that she opposes everything that most of us believe in.

23. I hope you're correct..
thanks for the thoughtful reply, and welcome to DU!

I'm deeply offended by this choice that McCain has made. It's extremely condescending and cynical. It shows his total lack of connection with or understanding of the women in this country and their day to day struggles.
