Obama knows .. as does most of the rest of humankind
This election is not about him, it's about us-- the people of this country.

Remember this? "Bush Questions Edwards's Qualifications for Top Job"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34832-2004Jul7.html

Much has been made even here on DU about Obama's "lack of experience". Never mind that in terms of time served Obama (12 yrs, Ill. State and U.S. senate) stacks up against Abe Lincoln and F.D.Roosevelt who held office for 10 and 6 yrs respectively. As for "executive" experience some of our most heralded presidents(like Truman and Kennedy)had zilch. No, this election is about "feelings".

Americans have an aversion to critical thinking. 75% of us believe Jesus was born to a virgin (and that includes 60% of liberals!). Over 50% believe in angels and an equal number believe aliens have visited earth. Most reject the theory of evolution and believe that blacks are lazier and less intelligent than whites. In short, overall, most Americans think with their gut. But that does not mean that they're stupid. It means that America's ruling class has convinced many of us(by using race and religion to define our "superior way of life" and justify genocide, slavery and wage exploitation)that it's virtuous to indulge in magical thinking.

Think about what an Obama presidency would mean... how it would expose the modern Elmer Gantrys for the frauds and snake oil peddlers they are. Thanks to Bush and Chertoff and Iraq and Katrina there has been tear in that moral facade. For the first time in over 200 years we may be awakening to fact that the color of one's skin is superficial and on earth there are no angels.

1. I can't quite figure out what your point is.
Obama has plenty of experience, but that doesn't really matter.

Religious people dislike critical thought.

Leaders use religion to encourage irrational beliefs in order to exploit us.

The election of a deeply religious man would somehow strike a blow aqainst religion, which is all a sham anyway.

And angels don't exist.

Huh?
