45. Technically she is qualified
Meets age and birth requirements. After that it becomes a ridiculous argument that you should never be drawn into. It is the 'small issues' that Obama refereed to in his speech. I had a friend trying to get into the argument via email. I responded with a picture of her lovely downtown.

Don't go down the rabbit hole, it cheapens our candidates.

Which is why McCain's judgment in choosing her is to be questioned. It's an easier argument to make - but in no way is Palin as qualified as Obama.

75. We will not win on the experience argument. McCain has experience.
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 12:10 PM by Evergreen Emerald
Obama has no experience. Palin has no experience. If experienced mattered, Obama would not be the nominee.

As Obama stated: change comes TO washington, not from washington. As Obama stated: it is about judgment, not experience.

To suggest that experience suddenly matters undercuts Obama's whole theme.

Palin is wrong on every issue from women's issues to the enviornment. That is her weakness. She is more of Bush. She is more of the same. She is a fundamental right-wing Bushie.

If he wants to win he won't do anything that the media characterizes as "attack."
I have been working on campaigns for a long time. Women have the advantage when they are "attacked."
It offends men particularly. "I wouldn't want him talking to my sister\wife\daughter that way."
He can certainly do it- at our peril.

14. It's not that she's a woman. It's that she's a hypocrite.
She holds up the birth of her last child as evidence of her pro-life credibility, saying that others would have aborted the child, and talks about what a gift and a challenge the child will be.

For someone else apparently, since she won't be around.

She belongs to the party of family values. She doesn't believe in choice for women who don't have the resources she had to make the decision she did about having a Down's Syndrome child.

Half the arguments I've seen against her would never be considered if she wasn't a raging hypocrite.

This is no game. You may sit there and say that half the arguments wouldn't be in play if she was man. But the other half of our nation is using exactly that against us and Palin is gladly playing the tool.

I definitely know I'm calling her and them out on this. You don't fuckin' manipulate the vote with someone's gender and get away with it.

29. I will attack her for whatever reason suits the purpose of making her look bad to my audience.
When I am among secular people I will attack her for being a religious zealot. When I am among people from church, I will attack her for being of a heterodox denomination. When I am among liberals I will attack her for her conservative views. When I am among conservatives I will attack her for her for anything they are prove to view as shortcomings in ideology. When I am among women, I will deride the obvious pandering of her nomination and the fact that McCain must not think much of womens' intelligence, when I am among conservative men who dislike women in authority, I will rub their noses in it.

If I can attack her for opposite reasons over the course of an afternoon, I will consider it an accomplishment.

Same goes for Johnny Boy.

because of his wife's cancer? And, if any male had a 4-month old child at home with special needs, I'd say the same things about them that I'm saying about Palin. A special needs child deserves the attention and care required. It's not because of her gender, it's because she's made a very bad choice.

Aside from that, she's patently not qualified anyway.
