won't it be a problem for McSchmuck if the media is picking apart her controversial statements, investigation of her in Alaska, etc. instead of him talking about issues? Or is that the idea since he doesn't want it to be about the issues?

1. They stole the convention coverage

But OH MY GOD the news couldn't be WORSE for the repukes. We got 40 million viewers last night. Folks have seen Obama and why we love our candidate. Now they're getting the best possible compare and contrast. We couldn't have picked a better running mate for McCain to lose with if the RNC had decided to allow DU to pick his running mate ourselves. Seriously, none of us could have done better than this.

2. This VP pick is the cherry on top after a great speech by Barack at the convention

The Republicans "stole" the attention but the VP pick work in our favor anyway so let them have the attention. What were they thinking with this pick? :-)

I was going to say that the convention was the point that won the election for Obama but this gift today from McCain seals the deal!
