Poll question: If, a huge crowd broke thru police lines and started protesting
outside the RNC and police had to use things like pepper spray, tear gas, and even resorted to physical restraint--like what happened in 1968 in Chicago, would this help or hurt the Chimp?

1. It's going to hurt us

I'm as angry as anyone about the last 3 and a half years, but acting out is only going to play into Rove's hands. It will be simple to portray this as discrazed, scary Democrats on the warpath or whatever - you get the idea. Having a large protest turnout in NY is great as long as it doesn't get out of control. We need to bide our time and play it smart. Save it in case Bush tries to steal another election, in which case I'll be right beside you.

Edited for meaning.

2. Ummm - you need to reword this - your question does not sync up with
the answers.

Help Bush or Hurt Bush

Help Dems or hurt Dems

Which is it?

3. This is what the media is hoping for. That's why they are fueling the
feeling of hopelessness in Dems by hyping Bush's slim lead in the polls. Since Bush has taken the lead, how often have you heard the phrase "these poll numbers are within the margin of error"?

When Kerry lead, his slim poll lead was causally brushed aside.

7. I think it can go either way
ritght now Americans are sick of Bush.

But they are not crazy about Kerry

and they respect law and order because they are brainwashed too.

If the protests are stupid and destructive, it will hurt BUT

if the cops and NYC authorities are stupid and destructive - then it MIGHT help our side.

Good luck, bad luck - who can tell (old Chinese story)

who knows?

we'll see...
