Florida Senate: Betty Castor strongest Dem candidate
According to a Rasmussen poll if Betty Castor emerges as the democratic candidate for the US Senate in Florida, to replace Bob Graham, she would be the strongest potential democratic candidate.

Castor would defeat Bill McCollum 42-39 and would be in a dead heat with Mel Martinez 44-44.

If Peter Deutsch emerges victorious from the democratic primary he would be running behind both potential GOP candidates.

Deutsch is behind Martinez, 47-39 percent and behind McCollum 44-37 percent.

1. its a tossup
no matter who emerges. The gaps between the candidates is likely caused by issues of name recognition.
