after the swiftboat liars fiasco, doesn't kerry now have the right to...
...air commercials showing how bush twisted his lips and looked at the floor for 27 minutes after hearing the second plane hit the wtc? isn't this the perfect opportunity for kerry to go after bush right where bush claims he is strongest (i.e. as a steadfast leader in times of crisis, etc)?

i mean, isn't the swiftliars book called "unfit for duty" or something like that? doesn't that seem to be the perfect opening to show how in reality it is bush who's unfit for duty? isn't this the perfect time for our candidate to step in and expose what a puppet chimpy is?

if not kerry, then maybe the surrogates need to do this. moveon, are you listening?

1. IMHO
Kerry should file a libel suit against the SBV's. The have no evidence for their deceitful claims. He has droves of documentation and the support of those who are witnesses.

*/McCain are filing one against the 527's in a simplistic ,draconian, "throw the baby out with the bathwater," stupid stance.

Many of these 527's are non partisans and are encouraging people to "get out the vote." That can only help our democracy.

The issue boils down to one of truth versus falsehood.

Note the bloody distinction.

In as much as I'm allergic to life in a litigious culture. Ya gotta fight fire with fire.

3. Public figures have almost no case suing like that, and he'd look weak
As a public figure, Kerry would have a very hard time making a case. He would look weak, petulant and childish suing over this. Not a good idea. Sorry.

2. I'm with you
The right keeps justifying this smear by saying that Kerry brought it upon himself by playing up his war record so much. Well, what has Bush done BUT play up his "strong, decisive leadership"? His actions as those planes hit the towers are more than fair game.

But I would prefer it if this was done by surrogates. Kerry should keep talking about the issues. Let THEM keep talking about Cambodia.
