So...Can/Will John Kerry sue SBVT...?
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 01:55 PM by imax2268
I heard that John O'Neill laid out a challenge to Kerry to sue him...any word on how that is going to go down...or is Kerry allowed to sue O'Neill...?

1. I wish he'd sue Thurlow
I don't think he'd want to sue the whole group and put all the allegations into evidence. But he ought to have a good case against Thurlow. I've read so much crap from rwers defending Thurlow, I'd like to have a court of law rule that his story is false and malicious.

2. Times v. Sullivan (1964) raises the bar...
...for a public figure so high as to make it impossible.

3. He should just go on The People's Court!
I've wanted to see Bush on there for so long. The judge would kill him. :-)

6. You're right
Only a guilty verdict would help, and we wouldn't get that before November. Just filing suit would make him look suit-happy.

7. Of course O'Neill the lawyer puts out the hollow invitation to be sued
O'Neill is a lawyer. He knows that it is practically impossible for a public figure to win such a suit, but the average member of the public does not. So by inviting Kerry to sue, it is an empty ploy purely for public effect.

8. If only he knew a good lawyer.
Suing would be a BIG mistake, it would keep discussion on the issue through November 2.
