This NEEDS To Be Said: McCain's New Congratulatory Ad = "Hey Everybody, I'm Still Here"
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 04:15 PM by berni_mccoy
He's in "Whattabout me" mode now.

That's how bad it is.

He can not go into next week prepared to destroy and take out the Democrats without first trying to get some attention for himself. This is how desperate the McCain campaign truly is and how very weak they really are.

And by putting out this out, instead of actually congratulating Obama, they've turned what should be a private moment into something they hope the media latches onto in order to bring attention to themselves.

It's baseless political pandering at its absolute worst. McCain should not receive any kudos for this. If he really wanted to congratulate Obama, he should do it personally and not with an Ad that the McCain campaign has promoted as, in their very words, "newsworthy".

On update: you can see the Ad on John McCain's website: www.johnmcain.com

2. McSame is the only campaign Ive ever seen that is based on jealousy
The whiny, needy 'me!me!me!POW!" tactic is the tackiest campaign ever run.

4. Why waste campaign money on an ad?
Although, I guess when you illegally raise more primary money, and you get a free meal ticket from Uncle Sam for the GE, you have a lot of money to waste.

5. He's not wasting his money if people buy into it
That's why it NEEDS to be said: His ad isn't sincere. His ad is all about him, not congratulating Obama.

8. we may recognize its insincerity, but its still a pretty smart move by him
Gets him some positive play on Obama's big night. And costs next to nothing because the networks will show it for free because its out of the ordinary.

These guys aren't amateurs and anyone who thinks this campaign is going to be a cakewalk is, well, we know what happened the last time someone predicted a cakewalk.
