Lieberman to Reid: “Will $250 Thousand Be Enough?” - VIDEO
By: Pachacutec Thursday August 28, 2008 12:00 pm

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid discusses reasons for keeping Joe Lieberman in the Senate Democratic caucus.

In this context, Reid volunteers that he recently went to Leiberman and said, "Joe, I need money from you." He describes Lieberman responding, "Will $250 thousand be enough?" Lieberman subsequently gave $250 thousand to the DSCC. Senator Chris Dodd also cited Lieberman's donation to the DSCC yesterday.

...............

So, it just looks like Joe Lieberman is paying protection money to the DSCC to obtain license to call Obama a traitor, campaign for and travel with John McCain, speaks at the Republican National Convention and campaign for a slot on the GOP presidential ticket. Reid, to his credit, candidly all but says so.

What clearer indication of Democratic party corruption, however legal, can there be?

Watch it!

1. $250 thousand is not enough.

He's trying to divide the party and destroy everything we stand for, and he can just buy forgiveness with a donation?

17. congress can remain a lame duck until then
We don't need Joe and anything the Goopers try to do can be filibustered.

No matter what, the chairmansips cannot change under the rules.

3. Joe needs to go; Harry needs to go
When we get 60+ seats in the senate joe can go cry with his friends across the aisle (IF they'll have him -- he'll be of no use to them then) AND we need Russ Feingold as Senate Majority Leader. Put Hillary on the Supreme Court at the next vacancy and get rid of Pelosi as speaker and President Obama will have a hell of a team in place.

and we don't need his vote or his money.

Elect 11 more Dems and we can tell him to "go Cheney yourself".

10. Wow, that's really Mafia-esque from someone who looks like a milquetoast.
I don't know whether to be impressed by the fact that Harry Reid shook Joe Lieberman down for some protection money or whether to be sad by that "politics as usual." We will have to see what happens to Lieberman after the elections then.

12. It's about JOE playing both ends against the middle
so that we can discredit him when he speaks next week. How can you trust someone who writes big checks one week and then tells you he's a friend of their opposition the next.

22. The DSCC and the DCCC use their money....
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 06:08 PM by bvar22
...to elect Corporate/Republian friendly "New Dems/BlueDogs" by steamrolling any Progressive grass roots sponsored Democrats in the Democratic Primaries.

If you work for a living, do NOT send your money to the DSCC/DCCC.
They will use it against you.

Support Progressive Democrats by either donating directly to them, or through the PDA.

http://www.pdamerica.org/

Lieberman has no conflict giving $250,000 to the DSCC.
It will be used to elect more "Democrats" just like him.
