Will the Republican Convention help us?- YES
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 01:44 PM by Dob Bole
This is just a theory that I have, but on Monday, when the convention starts, the media whoring on the swift boat issue will have to stop. the worst 3 weeks of the year will be over.

Then Bush will take the stage. We tend to do a lot better when the media focus is on Bush, because people know that he's bullsh**ing whenever he talks about the economy or Iraq. In other words, we're back in position to have a referendum on Bush again.

Bush and Kerry are currently pretty much tied in electoral votes, with Kerry slightly ahead. This is because the swiftboat ads have had an effect in Ohio and West Virginia, Bush has ramped up his Wisconsin effort, and Hurricane Charley actually did help Bush a little. But it won't last. Write it down.

On Edit: There is one major risk going into the convention, and his name is Zell. Kerry is leading right now in EVs, but that's because he's leading in Tennessee. Expect that to change after Zell Miller, who is from those same Appalacian mountains, speaks.

But on a large scale, we will be back on track and where we need to be. Let's just hope that Kerry doesn't foob up the debates.

1. If you have noticed,
Bush currently leads Wisconsin. I can't imagine this will last. Dukakis even won Wisconsin. Gore only won Wisconsin by 5000 votes, but Nader got 90,000+.

3. Yeah...
I'm going to be so glad to have Karl Rove out of the White House. Forget the other guys, he's my main target right now.

2. Depends

If they declare culture war then yes...but as it is I expect them to come out and talk about curing poverty, promoting freedom of choice, respecting the 1st amendment, being a party of empathy and compassion and just to throw a cherry on top will probably highlight some very strong environmental legislation to save the planet for future generations

After this convention the American people will be convinced the Republican Party is nothing more than an American Taliban or they are leftist hippies.

4. But isn't moderate night also media blackout night?
I was under the impression that the night Guiliani and McCain speak is going to be the night that they air Everybody Loves Raymond. But I could be wrong on this.

5. I don't know but that wont help them

If all the media shows is Rick Sanatarium and Crashcart, Falwell and whatever fundie nutjob they can pry from under their rock then I like our chances.

I am not sure, but I think the "Culture War" in 1992 really put wind in Clinton's sails, because this nation is very skiddish about giving these type of zealots too much power.
