Well... what can I say?
Thank you.
Thank you, RNC.
Really... you're swell.
Hope you have a good time at your special party in the Garden. Welcome to New York.
Thank you for re-painting the terrorism-bullseye on our city in a bolder, much more vivid RED. It needed a little brightening.
Thank you for the traffic NIGHTMARE! The checkpoints... the closed streets... it's fun... really! All the guess work! Like a big puzzle... a video game! The national news isn't covering it. But, here on the ground... if you're an average New Yorker here with your nose in it... man, it's really something! It's not just around the Garden. It's uptown to the Battery.
Thank you for the sirens, the military helicopters flying nearly at building level overhead, and the occaisional fighter jet! Ooh, the fighter jets! Kinda like being at an airshow!
Thanks for giving us a reason to pay all 37,000 New York City cops overtime. We'll find the money somewhere. Hell... I think I'll feel great about paying $2.50 for a one way subway ride.... as long as you enjoy yourselves and can take in "The Lion King". (Even though, the sex clubs are all booked solid all next week.)
Thanks for congesting the streets and making response times that much longer and more difficult for our firefighters and ambulance drivers. They could use more of a challenge.
It doesn't matter that Democrats outnumber Republicans 7 to 1 in this town. It doesn't matter that the average person in this already injured town has taken more of an economic hit and have endured more security inconveniences than in most cities in the wake of September 11.
I'm sure there was a good, good reason to hold your big party here in New York City. There must have been... right? There must have been a good reason to push the date back into September... right?
Oh!
Oh yeah!
Thank you for trying to exploit the deaths of our friends and neighbors who died downtown 3 years ago.

If you're coming to town, (and, your not a Republican) stop by and say, "Hey".
