I couldn't be prouder, Delaware couldn't have been prouder. He has give us 35 amazing years as out senator - we ask the rest of the country take good care of Joe and he will take good care of you.

I cried throughout most of that speech but I really thought that Joe did an amazing job and I loved the 'mistake' when he started to say '4 more years of George....wait of John McCain'

I see these threads all time time and well, I hope you understand why I really wanted to start this one! This is a great team and Joe Biden really is one of us.

Like Joe Biden, I too am a transplant from blue-collar region of Pennsylvania (Me - southcentral PA). But after having Rick Santorum as my senator, I figured Delaware had enough space for us Pennsylvanians to claim Joe as our own too. And in 2001 I moved to the state and made it official.

39. It was a very good speach,

My perceptions are somewhat 2 fold,

The first half of the speach was Joe Biden the man. That was him and how he views life. It showed the reality of what life deals you and shows the measure of the man. That first part I think will go a long way in showing many of us power and influence do not have to be corrupting influences. Sen. Obama will expound on this again tonite. I think tonite we'll see just how much alike Joe Biden and Barak Obama are as people, not politicians.

The second half of the speach was Joe Biden the candidate. He hit hard all many of the issues that currently divide America. Our views on Iraq/Afghanistan, the economy and most importantly the abuse of Executive Office politics. His line about the Vice President's Office is on the phone will be classic debate fodder. Can't wait to see how the Repub's try to respond to this.

Joe, we know you and John McCain have been friends for a long time and that friendship goes beyond politics. Let it go. I know and I don't care. You know him much better than I do and if he's your friend, great. But, he's know your opponent and you need to put that aside.

She said politics there is different than it is in a place like California, because everyone knows each other. The former governor's kids went to public school when he was in office, and no one thought anything when he pulled up to her house to pick up his kids from a birthday party.
