Bush: 'I am not going to come in second'
why does that statement send chills down my spine?

story here:

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE — As President Bush prepares for the Republican convention in New York next week, he says losing the election has never crossed his mind and the Iraq war was worth putting his political future at risk.

2. Creepy indeed. So is this (same story)
"The real question is who's got a vision of peace and of freedom and liberty — liberty abroad and liberty at home, liberty at home being having the tools necessary to cope with a changing world. And that's really the question," he said.

Bush said he believes voters won't deny him a second term even if they disagree with the war.

"They've seen me make decisions, they've seen me under trying times, they've seen me weep, they've seen me laugh, they've seen me hug," he said. "And they know who I am, and I believe they're comfortable with the fact that they know I'm not going to shift principles or shift positions based upon polls and focus groups."

God (when I beseech him, I MEAN it), that is a deluded man.

12. I've seen him laugh (at a women pleading for her life)
I've seen him weep (when asked a tough question by a mean reporter) & I've seen him hug (his big business buddies). You bet I know who you are & what you believe & that is why I'm going to work my ass off to get your's back to Texas in November.

He says often that he doesn't plan on losing
I think either the fix is in or he knows that something is going to happen to turn around the election in his favor. Scary indeed.

7. Remember the Russert Interview?
he said "I'm NOT GOING TO LOSE" he knows all the i's have been dotted and the t's crossed - everything is in place again for another coup - this time more likely to look "normal"

8. The man has never acknowledged that he lost the popular vote
in the last election. He has always acted like he won the 2000 election by a landslide and had some mandate. I want nothing more than to see that cheap smirk of his disappear on November 3rd and see him crawl back to his fake ranch in Crawford.

9. It's just the medication talking
When he loses he'll go on a permanent bender, or flip out so bad they'll have to lock him up. I'm looking forward to it.

13. I would like to think that many more people are watching
more closely for cheating on his part, and will yell and protest much louder if he tries that crap again.

But it DOES sound like he knows something we don't know. It's almost enough to give up the fight and say 'why bother.'

Then again, that's probably what he wants.

FIGHT VOTER DISENFRANCHISEMENT (see my sig line)

14. I think the fix is in and he knows it.
Just look at how all the polls have turned around in bu$h's favor. I KNEW the media whores would put him ahead in most polls so it won't look so suspicious when he "wins" "again". He is one pathetic arrogant pile of shit. :puke:

16. that's not what he said last week!!!!!!
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-steelworkers21aug21,1,7274906.story

At the end of the meeting, Bush turned to his reelection prospects. Although he expressed his belief that he would win on Nov. 2, Bush said he would be at peace with himself "if people elect to send me home."

"He said he wanted to be remembered as being effective and he was not worried about trying to be popular," said Chancelor Wyatt, a marketing manager at Timken.

John Grogg, a furnace operator who put on the dress blues of his Pennsylvania Air National Guard unit for the occasion, quoted the president as saying: "You know, if I should lose this reelection for president of the United States, I know that I've done as good a job as I can do. And God would say, 'Good servant, take a break.' "
