As of August 24, the electoral vote based on pledging is almost tied at Bush 270 and Kerry 268. Bush currently has 55.6% of total pledges while Kerry has 43.5%.

Kerry took an early lead but quickly got swamped by Bush supporters.

In the last few weeks Kerry has been steadily coming back and is positioned to move ahead. What will happen over the next two months?"

1. That site was hacked

Kerry had the lead initially and it was steadily increasing. Then one Saturday, more than ten thousand "pledges" to Bush came in switching almost all states to Bush. Since then this artificial Bush lead has been steadily eroding.

The site management had to have been aware of the hacking but did nothing about it. So I conclude that they want a Bush lead. I won't be surprised to see another influx of bogus Bush pledges.

Reminds me of the first time I saw the Omen. We all walked out of the theatre seeing 666's all over the place! (We had to act a little more *ahem* mature *cough* than the rating allowed. :) )
