How are the Swift Boat Ads going to hurt Bush?
From what I've seen Kerry has been the one hurt by these ads. Everyone seems more content with saying that this will eventually hurt Bush even though that doesn't seem to be the case. I' have been saying for MONTHS now that we need to concentrate on what's going on with the economy and health care rather than spending our time worrying about the SB ads. Kerry's numbers are getting worse, and wed should be worried about that. No one cares where Bush was during Vietnam and we should stop worrying about it. Everyone knows that those people who joined the N.G. during Vietnam were just trying to get out of going to the war. We need to stop this smear campaign and move on rather than stay in the muddy waters that we are in. Once again this election will be "it's the economy, stupid." But if we sit here and do nothing except think that talking about Bush's N.G. service will actually help Kerry than we are fools. You can choose to look at the polls and do something or look at the polls and talk about Bush's N.G. service. In the end if we choose the later of the two than it will be four more years of Bush.

1. That right - even if we can't get off our butts, we can at least
send some money to the DNC. I sent another contribution yesterday. Also ordered a bunch of campaign buttons to pass out.

2. Calm down
Polls not reflective of real time. They are delayed several days. Most are still within the MOE.

The swifties lies just started getting exposed at the beginning of the week. Many folks are on vacation, getting ready for school, savoring the last days of summer, distracted by the Olympics, and not paying attention.

Maybe the entity that will ultimately take the biggest hit from all of this is neither candidate, but the media. There's all sorts of rumbling beneath the surface of how the SBV's got so much exposure without any scrutiny of the glaring discrepancies from past accounts.

I've a feeling that past the RNC, the truth of the insidious nature of the smear will cause it to completely implode in an obvious manner.

3. "it's the economy, stupid" won't happen this time
due to the fact that the US economy is getting stronger and stronger.
