Bush Campaign planned and organized the Gainesville SBV Rally

I have come to realize that in regards to rally, there wasn't coordination between the ACREC and the SBV's. It is actually worse than that.

The PRO USA POLITICAL RALLY (gee who said this was about politics?) was put on and directed by our local ACREC and the Bush Campaign, from the Bush/Cheney Campaign Headquarters at 1212 N. Main St. Gainesville, FL. This whole party was owned and operated by the folks at this location.

On the record, they have stated that all they did was post a flyer for an event and otherwise had nothing to do with it. There is now overwhelming evidence that this is not true. That they did indeed, use Campaign Headquarters to organize, print and distribute flyers, e-mails and press releases, raise the funds from their supporters, rent the Community Plaza in their own name, and coordinate the entire event.

Yes, indeed a couple of Swift Boat Vets had been involved. They were invited to speak at the rally but then canceled when the news about the flyer hit. But other than that, they did not participate in the organizing or planning of the event.

So this is why it is not true, that the Bush Campaign 'collaborated' with the Swift Boat Vets for this event. This was their show from start to finish.

but broken a number of election laws.

They wrote contracts with the City of Gainesville for the use of the Community Plaza. They were all sign by a party activist, using the Campaign Headquarters address.
