My sister was going to sit out this election
but she called me this morning and said Hillary changed her mind.

I have been struggling with this issue concerning my big sis. I have always admired and respected her but the last few months I have avoided speaking with her because of her feelings about this election. She previously told me that she just could not get behind Obama and vote for him and that she was not going to cast a vote in the presidential election for the first time in her life (she is 50).

As much as I tried to convince her it was a stupid thing to do and how important this election is - as well as to share with her all of the great things about Obama - she would not/could not listen.

Well this morning she called to tell me after listening to Hillary's speech she realized it is about the issues and how important it is to elect Obama. She will be casting her vote for Obama in November!

Thank goodness - because I really have missed talking to my sister.

2. That's great. Thanks for sharing!
I think that Rachel Maddow was right last night when she said "Hillary reached those who were reachable."

3. Hopefully there are plenty more just like her
I would think that anyone who actually sits down and works it out in his or her head would ultimately come to your sister's conclusion.

8. I think that for a lot of people, it's going to take deprogramming.
They've listened to Rush, FAUX News, Drudge, etc., so much that it is deep in their souls that they are right and we are wrong. I keep plugging away, but it is hard to fight that kind of propaganda.

Good for your sister. I hope you can have a lot of fun catching up on what you've missed. Life is too short.

9. It was so frustrating because she is normally a thoughtful, intelligent person.
I even asked her if she had started watching Faux news or something because she was so different. She did not go to the dark side just said she could not "get behind" Obama. I told her to quit listening to all media and if she had any questions to ask me.

During one of our few conversations I even said to her "Just trust me - you know I would not support anyone that I do not believe in. You have to know that I have complete faith in Obama." That did not persuade her at all - and it kind of hurt my feelings.

Her phone call to me this morning has truly made my day!

11. of course Hillary was going to do the right thing for the party and America
glad your sister got on board and glad you can start talking again!

( I'm another age 50 Hillary supporter who got on board with Obama right away.) I love HIllary and love the effort she made. She's an amazing woman. But it's time to support Obama. There will be a woman president and soon. Just not this time.

:hi:

17. I have never understood how they couldn't see that it was about the issues...
it has always been about the issues for me no matter who the candidate was and the lesser of two evils and this time it is even more evident than ever and people are finding every reason possible not to vote for Obama.

If he disagrees with them on one or two issues they say they will vote for the republiCOns who have many issues that I disagree with and the republicons issues really are a matter of life and death but mainly death, hate and greed...It makes no sense to me after the vote there is no turning back as they are catching hell.
