Betya "they" are scrambling to get 10,000 people together for McCain's veep
party/veep announcement ..... Dayton is a good choice too one of the top
ten Cities that is dying.

The Politico Web site reported there are plans to hold a large-scale event in Dayton next Friday --
the same day as McCain's 72nd birthday. McCain may use the vice presidential announcement to
limit discussion of his age -- an issue that has sway with some voters, Preston reported.

"I think what you try to do is balance it out against other news and maybe presenting the vice presidential
running mate on his birthday is the other news," Beck said.

8. Yep.
Dayton proper is bluer than blue, but the surrounding areas, including Wright-Pat, are way red.

11. What's more, the venue is right next door to WPAFB.
Wright State University's Nutter Center, where 10,000+ showed up last spring to see Obama, right before Ohio's primary. It will be interesting to see if the old man draws as many people. They were handing out tickets (one media outlet said "selling," but really, now) starting late last week and I haven't heard anything more about how that is going.

3. I bet that birthday cake has more candlewax than cake on it.
I say it's Mittens. But something tells me McCain so lacks judgment that he'll bring in Lieberman.

13. He will make his pick this Fraday....
So that he can steal some thunder, and the TV audience from Obama's big speech.

That would all be Rove's idea.
