Swift Boater behind Ayers ad voted in Democratic Primary
Why would a millionaire who gives thousands and thousands to the state and national Repub. party, Bush, McCain, Guiliani, Romney, Domenici, Cornyn, and a dozen other congress critters vote in our primary? Could it be that the repub primary was settled, and like so many others he was trying to mess with our primary?

7. Should we Democrats that vote in repub primaries feel guilty?
When we made sure Fred Tuttle got the nod in Vermont instead of the winger we helped
him beat did we do the wrong thing?

He may be a dweeb but it is not for voting within the rules.

8. Where did you get that?
As for repubs voting in Dem primaries, well, Texas has an open vote and a longish history of tricksters. That's why we started our hybrid prima/caucus - to filter out the bullshitters.

I could very well see a turd like Simmons crossing over to mess with the other side. He's rich and powerful. He's got nothing to lose among his peers. They think the whole democratic process is some game designed to distract the little people. I'm sure he thought it was funny as hell. I also think his lack of enthusiasm about his party's primary speaks volumes.

We Democrats kicked repub ass in the Texas primaries this year. Like by 1.5 million.

12. well it does go to prove that there was an effort, not a conspiracy theory,
that the republicans had decided to screw around with our primaries after they had settled on mccain thinking they could help chooses the candidate they had been planning a decade to run against. makes you wonder if this had happened in '04 when we could've had dean instead of kerry.

i think under president obama we need to revisit election law work to renew trust in the primary and the electoral process.

15. Local online, private database
Covers my county only. Turns out that Simmons asshat and I live in the same city.

Our voter records are public information, and a good local Democrat has put this database online for campaign, GOTV and voter identification. It's restricted and password protected.

If any of you have access to Texas VAN, I'm sure the same information is in there. Or you could go over to county elections dept.

16. Correction to my OP
The guy is a billionaire, not a measly millionaire.

Interesting how he can give $2,300 each to McCain, Giuliani, Romney, and Duncan Hunter, but couldn't be bothered to vote for any of them. But he voted in the Dem primary without giving a cent to any of our presidential candidates.:eyes:
