David Brooks: Cindy McCain shows America how to solve the Housing Crisis

by Lefty Coaster

For those of you who have been watching the Democratic Convention on PBS you probably getting pretty tired of David Brooks trying to put a cheerful face on the Republican Party's campaign of dark inuendo and character assassination.

But David Brooks has singlehandedly showed Americans how we can put an end to the Housing Crisis while shining a spotlight on the heroic public service of Cindy McCain.

NORRIS: David, how much does this hurt John McCain, particularly as so many Americans are losing the one home that they have in the foreclosure crisis?

Mr. BROOKS: I’d say medium. You know, we’ve got a vast oversupply of houses. And if Cindy McCain is using her money to soak up some of that oversupply and build up the price, I think that’s a notable public service and we should all buy multiple homes.

No, I don’t think it’s going to be a big problem in part because John McCain has many flaws, but seeming like a spoiled rich guy is actually not one of them. And there are plenty of good candidates who have a lot of homes, plenty of bad candidates who have no homes...

All Things Considered

Lefty Coaster's diary :: ::
Cindy McCain's selfless public service to America by buying 8 mansions and luxury condos should become a model for all American families. Every American family should buy half a dozen homes to help Cindy restore the American housing market.

This is a absolutely brilliant idea.

David Brooks is a genius.

I've already started my search for luxury condos in upscale neighborhoods around the country.

You should start your own search for upscale real estate today!

P.S. I've noticed a lot of these homeless candidates on the ballot too.

3. I honestly think he was joking here
I can't stand David Brooks, and he was severely downplaying the impact that the houses story has been having, but let's be real here people. I heard him on NPR, and this was obviously a joke he was trying to tell. It wasn't a good joke, but I will give him credit for reinforcing how rich the McCains are.

5. And...just look at what Bush has done for overpopulation.
How many hundreds of thousands of Afghan and Iraqi food consumers has he eliminated?
The man is a world class patriot!

7. It's another "let them eat cake" moment...I'm kind of amazed at the audacity
and authentic total lack of connection the Republican party has with regular people. It's pretty astounding.

In David Brook's view the "solution" to the housing crisis is for extremely rich people to buy multiple homes. And he says it with a straight face.

The funny thing is that for a large swath of people, they keep getting away with this kind of bullshit.
