2. See! Told ya!
Do you understand now why Obama will be the next President....apart from the fact that he is on the right side of the issues?

3. Rhetorical Question, Right?

The answer is . . . all! :-)

My focus is on CO, OH, VA, and NV. Only NV does not have a Democratic governor.

4. It can be argued Nevada doesn't have a governor, period
We have Jim Gibbons. Outgoing Republican governor Kenny Guinn told you everything you needed to know about Gibbons in '06. Guinn refused to campaign for Gibbons or even refer to him by name.

Gibbons makes Bush look like Mount Rushmore rolled into one.

5. So in reference to the voting mechanism in these key states,
who holds the key? Are the secretary of states Dems or repugs?
And what kind of voting apparatus are we talking about?

6. Secretaries of State

I don't know voting machines like many around here, who are superb authorities on that subject, so I'll let them answer there, but . . .

Ohio: SoS = Jennifer Brunner (D)
Virginia: SoS doesn't handle elections; the State Board of Elections is bipartisan
Colorado: SoS = Mike Coffman (R, and a real slime under an ethics cloud)
Nevada: SoS = Ross Miller (D)

So, looks like the only worry there (in my four key states) is Colorado, but considering that the Goopers themselves tried to oust Coffman, and Bill Ritter, the governor, is a Democrat, I'm not too concerned.

And in case you, FC, or anyone else is looking ahead a bit:

Ohio's Supreme Court is all (7-0) Republican. (Ugh.)
Virginia's Supreme Court is a little hard to figure out, but I believe it is 4-3 or 5-2 Democratic.
Colorado's Supreme Court is 5-2 Democratic.
Nevada's Supreme Court is "nonpartisan," but I believe that it is 4-3 Democratic.

Anyone who knows more on the VA and NV courts, or spots any other errors, please post.

7. This is the kind of information we need to catalogue......
because in so doing, there are certain fears that we can allay to a great degree. Half of what we have to fight during this election is fear like that I have witnessed even on these boards. Confidence (not overconfidence) is a great part of what will win us this election.

8. Good Call

Maybe we should start a new thread somewhere with this info, to save if needed, which it hopefuly will not be? (Due to a huge Obama victory. :-))
