We are NOT in trouble
Kerry's numbers seem to have dipped because he didn't fight back against the swift rats. But he found his balls, so let's forget about these polls and wait till after the GOP convention.

We are only in trouble if our guy refuses to fight. And Kerry is punching hard. Let's all do our part and quit worrying.

1. One little fact people seem to forget here
Bush is the Incumbent! His numbers are under 50%, thats not good, no matter how you look at it.

4. most of them PRECEDED the debunking ... Dimson is in deep doo doo
because no matter what he's thrown at Kerry -- that fighter IS STILL STANDING TALL AND PROUD ... and *'s incumbency record sucks like a hoover ... and ALL the polls show the internal questions of "right or wrong direction" "economy" and "iraq" get lower and lower for the selectident

3. It was a tiny dip in the polls, still within the MOE
I can't believe everyone is so worried.

Kerry is still ahead in the swing states.

5. Polls are showing lots of people belieev the swift vets
The media is coming around. If not calling them liars, at least some media outlets are being pretty clear about their discrepancies - except Fox of course.

6. We're Nearing the 7th Inning Stretch
Think of the GOOP whorefest as the start of the stretch run, and as the challenger, Kerry is in damn good shape. Polls in the battleground states show Kerry way ahead as well as holding on to all the Gore 2000 ones.

Again, the focus here is the electoral college...need we not forget that lesson from 2000?

If Kerry continues to lead in the states Gore won in 2000 and picks up Ohio, West Virginia & Missouri, screw Florida and anything else...that puts Kerry way over the 270 and the SCOTUS can't steal it. Fact that New Hampshire looks like that's 4 additional EVs we didn't count on and Kerry is showing close in places like Tennesee, Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada and Colorado (c'mon...I know that state is far more progressive than the hacks you've got representing you) that keep me feeling things are looking a lot better for Kerry than for the evil empire.

Right now, the GOOP is throwing all their wildest pitches, swinging at everything in sight and complaining to the umps that they should get 4 outs every inning, and we're still ahead.

Focus, focus, focus. Kerry's setting this regime up on a lot of fronts in the final weeks...and the Repugnicans couldn't do us a bigger favor than think this election is theirs and slack off.

8. Rope-a-dope?
Could it be that prolonging the SBV thing is classic rope-a-dope on Kerry's part? Distracting from the Repub convention - showing the * campaign's sleazy connections - AND driving home the point about his own military service compared to *'s pathetic evasion?

Rope-a-dope? I say yes.

9. Latest NBC/WSJ poll, 60% Independents think US headed in wrong direction!
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 09:57 AM by flpoljunkie
This bodes very well for our guy!

http://online.wsj.com/public/article/0,,SB109357850380802847,00.html?mod=todays%5Ffree%5Ffeature

Overall, 50% of the electorate says the nation has gotten on the wrong track, while just 36% say it's heading in the right direction. Among independents, 60% say the nation is headed in the wrong direction. By 50% to 46%, voters say Mr. Bush doesn't deserve to be re-elected to a second term.

10. Kerry has taken their best shot and is still standing...
Not only is he still standing, he's on the offense. If Bush was looking for a quick knockout, he better get ready for 12 more hard rounds. We'll see how strong his jaw is when he gets hit.
