We seem to be in trouble
Those f'in swift boat people are messing up our poll numbers! Did you know that we are losing Ohio by over 10 points? We only have a three point lead in California. Yikes!

11. that is a bullshit pro bush website
first of all, it shows Bush up 5 in Ohio, not 10.

but more importantly, it cherry picks all the polls and only uses the one that is the worst for Kerry in each state, ignoring others that are better for Kerry.

that convinces me the bush crowd is so scared they have to spin the polls. hope they convince themselves that their lies are true.

hahahahaha!

29. That IS NOT a pro bush website
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 11:49 PM by RummyTheDummy
The guy who runs it is non-partisan and I have a suspicion that he leans toward Kerry. If you actually read his break down he says flat out he thinks the numbers on Cali. are BS, but since they're the most recent poll numbers from there (Survey USA), he uses him.

If there were a new poll tommorow showing Kerry up by 40, he would use that one. It's the same standard he applies to everything. He does say that Kerry probably really isn't ahead in Tenn. and he believes Colorado probably isn't tied. And guess what? I completely agree with him. Does that make me a pro bushy?

electionprojection.com is the pro-repug site. Let's get our facts straight, shall we.

4. Those numbers in OH are false
Kerry has had almost a 3+ lead over Shrub for like all spring and summer long. Bush and Taft and Oxley have fucked this state over and people are now realizing it. He comes to Lima OH saturday, a place where a lot of jobs have been lost too and mostly is only retail left. Taft and Oxley don't represent this area, and Bush hasn't done shit for this place.

8. Good thing we're not voting tonight!
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 10:13 PM by mediaman007
There are days that concern me too, but that's why we are not in charge. That's why Kerry probably hasn't done a lot of big stuff yet. No matter what each side does, anything barring a big mistake, is just treading water.

In fact, I don't think that the Swift Boat stuff is the biggest slam, probably it was a trial balloon that worked.

once the Smear Boat Liars have completed their implosion, I predict a sizable backlash. They may have taken a few points on the margins, but their going to give back more than they got.

16. Wrong
At best, Bush is leading Kerry in Ohio by no more than 5 points. The poll showing Kerry with only a 3 point lead in Cali is a clear outlier. Every single previous poll shows him with a double-digit lead. And Pennsylvania? The latest poll shows Kerry up by 8 points. The last poll to show Kerry losing in that state was a Fox News poll at the end of June. And there's also formerly solid red states which are now very close. The last Survey USA poll shows Kerry and Bush tied in Colorado and Bush with small leads in other polls. Bush also has a small lead in VA and Arizona. People are making too much of this.

17. A Few, Little, Itty, Bitty Points...
a) First off, that site is retarded. I mean, literally retarded. Every time I go there it screws up my browser. This may be intentional on the part of some secret conservative computer cabal, but I suspect it's just because whoever designed the site is a stupid fuckwit.

b) The "Survey USA" poll that shows California 49% Kerry, 46% Bush was obviously put together by someone smoking some very high grade crack. There is no way, short of Diebold tranquilizing 33 million voters and trucking in christian fundamentalist pod people to vote in their place, that Bush is not going to be severely creamed in this state. And by "severely creamed" I mean, a margin of a helluva lot more than 3 percent.

c) Even that stupid site still has Kerry winning. Guess your concern was premature.

19. "WE" ?
Got a mouse in your pocket?

Those poor swift vet liars are being used by the Bush* campaign, and honestly, so are freepers who believe the common line.

There's so much unnecessary hatred. There's so much more that connects us than divides us, but the media don't make much money promoting that idea.

20. You have a point
The polls show a very close race. This is true even though all the facts are on our side:

Economy stinks
War in Iraq stinks
Antiterror war stinks
Environment going to hell
Civil right down the drain
Corruption all over the place

Yet, in spite of all this we are not running away with the election. WHy? They are better campaigners than we are. If Karl Rove were on our side we would be up 20%.

30. Why? Because the Media is Stumping for Booosh
It doesn't matter how good a campaign Kerry runs if nobody hears about it.
It doesn't matter if the SBVs are liars if most people hear the lies
and not the evidence refuting them.

WHO OWNS THE NEWS?

25. Settle down. It's still August. Nothing matters before Sept.
The teeming masses won't remember anything other than what happens in September and October.

Bush and the Swiftboat Liars blew it--Bush was going down the tubes so fast that they pulled out their October surprise in August, imho.

27. Relax
These polls are mostly showing the effects of the swift boat ads before Kerry grew his balls back and started fighting back.

Let's wait till after the GOP convention. From now until then, polls don't matter. Can't learn a damn thing from them.
