What's wrong with Warner?
I mean, I'm perfectly happy with the Biden selection, but Warner seems like he would have been a great pick too; plus he could have ran in 8 years.

1. He's currently running for a Senate seat.
I don't think he wanted the job.

3. He's another seat in the Senate
I think thats why he decided not to hop in the presidential race

he's the next senator from Virginia.

5. I think the Obama campaign wanted to vet him
But he declined because he's running for Senate. I would guess Schumer may have had something to do with that too (not wanting to give up an almost certain Senate pickup).

7. He would have been great. But he didn't want the job,
And I really think that he wouldn't have filled the foreign policy experience that Barack needed. JMHO. He will bring another seat in the Senate though. Warner is very popular in Virginia. I don't know if there is another dem, other than Kaine, who could have won. But this gives us 2 dem senators from Virginia plus a dem governor. That does have value in itself.

12. Good Senator, and decent speech......but President? I'm not that impressed.
He's fair as keynote on delivery......the speech is interesting though.

15. Great governing philosophy
Especially for states like Virginia. Seems to be detail oriented which is good for a Governor and Senator. I guess we can't expect too much exuberance when they're filling in the policy check sheet.
