I am fed up with Peter Deutsch and his "islamic jihad" attacks on Castor.
Today we got another of those ugly, nasty brochures from the American Democracy Project. They are the ones, Bernie Friedman and friends, perhaps his law firm.....as the domain name leads to his address at the firm.....who are after Castor over the Al Arian issue.

This brochure is just plain nasty and is is not even true. I followed the Al Arian situation there at USF quite closely. There was nothing she could do at the time. Even Genshaft when she fired him had to use the issue of campus security, it was all she had.

I called the office of Deutsch today, and I requested he tell his friend, Bernie, to quit sending these ugly brochures to us.

Tonight at the debates he did it again. He is dead wrong on this. If by some fluke he wins the primaries, I don't think I would vote for him. He is more blatant about his racism/ethnicity than the Republican candidates.

Here is a link to the article about the debates.

We had a discussion thread going here about this group and its law firm connections this week. This is ugly stuff.

4. Graham supports her, Nelson told Deutsch to back off, Dean came here.
They are all saying for him to quit, but he is getting worse.

5. I think this is why Dean supports her
I remember him saying how upset he was over the 527's attacking her.

I saw them both in WPB on Monday. Dean specifically went after the groups targeting her.

8. I had heard that. I am jealous you got to be there.
I know one of the Deutsch campaign promptly attacked Dean after that. They pulled this stuff on him during the campaign, and he gets furious about it.

I notice the Jewish Journal endorsed Castor because of this as well.

2. Watching that debate made me HATE Deutsch...
First, I was astonished that he said that if you wanted an even-handed approach with Israel-Palestinians then the other two support it...is THT a BAD thing??

Also, I am not the hugest abortion rights person...my grandmother was a mean woman and used to tell my mother that she would have aborted her if abortion had been legal back then, so its kinda personal for me...and he really harped on the abortion angle, that the other two didn't support as much...well, I'm ok with that also...

I've read a lot that makes me dislike Penelas in regards to Al Gore from 2000, but I LOVED what he said about Iraq...I am actually leaning towards him (though his commercials with the huge loud red/white striped flags in the back are visually awful, AHH, my eyes!!)...

I think Betty Castor will win, she's ok, more focused on health-care which is fine...but I just wish OUR (democratic) candidates would actually STAND UP to the Republcians about Iraq...I think the public would support them MORE than the politicians give them credit for...

If ifs and but were candy and nuts...anyways...

3. Here is more about Bernie Friedman's group.
He and Deutsch are close friends. We have friends who moved here from Miami who support Deutsch, but they are even getting fed up with his attacks. It is called www.castortruth.com

7. Part of the email Castor just sent. Her ad is very positive.
"Peter Deutsch has continued his distortion of Betty Castor's record, interrupting the candidates and moderator in tonight's debate.

We have less than 5 days before the Florida primary election and our opponent has continued a brutal campaign of attacks against Betty.

Please help Betty combat attacks and keep her positive message on the air.
http://www.bettynet.com/site/PageServer?pagename=act_negattacks_petition

Just days after signing a pledge to refrain from negative campaigning, Peter Deutsch broke his promise to Florida voters -- yet again -- in tonight's debate."

This kind of attack just makes me furious. I was on a mailing list with some of the USF professors at the time, and this is all just outrageous.
