He's a Republican after all, even though he's supporting Obama. And Fairbanks is a conservative town. He's going out on a limb here as it is.

I would guess Alaska is pretty much in the bag for McCain due to the ANWR issue, which pretty much every Alaskan supports drilling in ANWR.

8. I have relatives in Alaska,

and they say things are changing because of the thawing of the glaciers and perma frost...Obama is for alternate energy which is the way many up there are going...the oil drilling destroys the fish industry also. My aunt said that the drilling is more of a issue for the polls up there then the people...

Got popped for exposing himself near a dumpster once.. he was going door to door canvassing for himself, and knocked on my door, stuck his hand out for me to shake it and I went "Ewwww... I'm not Touching THAT.."

Kind of a freak, really sad story tho, the hospital had his young son who he'd run into the emergency room, they gave the kid the wrong shot and killed him, worse, they tried to HIDE the kid's body in the place and he tore the place apart to find this kid's body, finally found it covered in a hallway near the basement.

Our hearts all went out to him at that point..

Mayor of Fairbanks ain't a big shake, hell, they run the "Trade - E- O" on the radio :)

Lot of Independents there, could go either way.
