6. Cheney, there are rumblings...
...and they've been going on for months, that the real conservatives, old isolationists, and those against the christian right, are against neocons like Cheney and would love to see him replaced by Guiliani or John McCain. Stuff like this are the first warnings of an imminent civil war within the Republican party.

7. Seriously..................
I've predicted for some time now that McCain will replace Cheney as VP on the Thug ticket. I think it will come down to "health issues", but there are too many things going on in the background that point to something like this happening.

8. Yeah, but

There are a number of reasons this won't happen.

1. Bush shows infinite loyalty - otherwise many other people from
his inner circle would be gone by now. Rummy, Kindasleezy.

2. Cheney is the real power behind the throne. Cheney doesn't want
to give this up, ever. The Neocon agenda is no where near complete.

3. Bush depends too much on Cheney, I don't think he would trust
any "popular" choice for Veep... especially McCain.

4. Republicans have a hard time admitting some sort of mistake. A
replacement at this point (unless Cheney dies or comes close to
it) would be hard to pass off. Bush would lose support from many
true believers.

9. Not gonna happen
The neocons are in charge, and Cheney is their supreme leader. Who's gonna make him?

10. So Phyllis Schlafly is all upset about Cheney on gay marriage
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 10:40 PM by hatrack
I don't give a shit what she thinks, and neither do about 80% of RNC delegates who'll vote on the steaming pile of dog vomit which they refer to as their "platform".

Only way Cheney will leave the VP's office is on a stretcher. Beyond the possibility of some medical crisis, it ain't gonna happen.
