You know what I liked about Michelle last night?
Her dress. She didn't wear the obligatory red, white, or blue suit. She had a lovely turquoise dress on. And the girls IMO chose their own dresses to wear. What little girl doesn't like purple? I have to laugh at Republican men who can never wear any suit that isn't dark with either a red or blue tie. It's shallow, but I liked her dress.

1. The little girl in purple was so cute.
I personally thought it was a bold choice (Michelle's dress) although I'm sorry to say I didn't personally like it. The color was fine on her, but I didn't like that sunburst thingie on it. Of course, it might look far better off camera. I was surprised she chose that, because she can pretty much wear anything.

2. I thought she looked like a million bucks.
I kept looking at that dress. I'd wear that in a heartbeat.

The girls' dresses both looked blue on my tv. Was one of them wearing purple?

4. She always looks stunning
She has such impeccable taste and knows how to be fashionable without being a fashion statement. We so desperately need them in the White House and I just can't understand why every single Democrat doesn't see it.

5. As a man I was happy that she did not wear a pants suit.
I guess I just got tired of seeing Hillary and Laura. My wife wears both depending on the occasion.

8. Yes... I'm so sick of fucking pant suits. There's nothing wrong with a dress....
It'd be cool if Hillary wore one tonight.

7. I thought she looked great.
And I've been critical of some of her past choices, particularly the Aunt Millie purple flowers at last week's historic occasion. I appreciate the fact that there is never, ever, a "hoochie" component to her clothing, and that nothing looks made from the draperies.

Laura has atrocious taste. Embarrassing. Especially the belly bows. Some of her things are designed by her MIL's favorite designer, Scaasi. Ugh.

And Hillary wore the black pantsuit with pastel sweater draped over the shoulders to the ground, and never, ever should wear an orange pantsuit to anything. I even saw her in a leopard print gown once.

I liked the aqua dress. The brooch was a bit distracting, but summery and sweet. Her hair looked terrific and her makeup was great.

Actually, though, I thought the girl's dress with the black top and tassel was a little bit mature in design. I realize that many pre-puberty girls today are dressed like street walkers and it's hard to find age-appropriate designs. And I realize that pre-pubertal girls want to look like they have a rock band and boyfriends and a TV show. But we can't let them do that for historic public occasions. This wasn't BAD, but it hinted of a side of life best left to adults.

I saw the JC Penney ad for children's underwear in the Sunday newspaper featuring underwire bras for little girls right under the heading "children's underwear" -- poor things.
