We need to bring out Keating 5 and remind the voters what it cost us.
Sure, 4 democrats were also a part of the scandal but not one of those democrats are in office anymore (not even sure if any of them are still alive). But I do know this much - Cranston, Glenn, DeConcini and Riegle would truly understand our reason to bring this back up again in order to remind the public once again of how our country was bilked out Billions by this scandal.

And btw I checked, McCain is the only one alive (geez talk about being that fricking old) and do we want that as our next president??

2. My husband thinks this is how it will go down:
The Republicans are going to go after Biden for the plagiarism charge and Biden will snap back, "well I seem to remember an actual scandal back in the day".

Just my husband's little crystal ball about how things could unfold!

5. Funny thing with that whole plagerism scandal
I truly can't imagine that Joe would have knowingly said "Hey I think I'll copy this guy's stuff word for word and cal it my own". Joe did plagerize but geez - what a minor little scandal compared to what people are doing today.

It's a shame that Biden can't debate McCain.

6. With bank failures looming that dwarf anything in the past and with Biden voting for the
repeal of Glass-Seagall and directly tied to the banking industry, I'm just not so sure that's the way to go.

But what do I know, I'm not a genius political consultant.

9. It would be important ......
But republicans never hold their own to the high moral or ethical standards that they expect of others.

That is why they pander to the "evangelicals", the so called religious right. It is because the majority of todays "Christians" (religious only, not spiritual christians, there is a BIG difference) are professional hypocrites. Their entire lives are based on hypocrisy.

No. the right wingers wont care what you might point out to them about their boy, that doesn't matter to them.

One real quick example.

All of the talking heads at CNN, MS-NBC, and while I do not watch FOX, I am sure that their reports this morning reflect the same sort of propaganda.

They are all insisting that the democrats did not talk about ANY issues last night. That they did not even discuss issues.

Sure they did.

Michelle Obama, talked about family morals and values. She discussed their family unit. She discussed their devotion to family.

Now that is not a discussion that the right wing wants to have. They dint want to have to put John McCain's family morals and values, and especially the subject of devotion to family up to scrutiny.

Not after the way he treated his first wife. She stuck by him while he was in the POW prison.

They wont discuss how when he got home and found his wife maimed and debilitated by a car accident, he became a male slut and started whoring around with anything that would spread its legs.

How he met his new sex toy, a little rich girl named Cindy, and how she wanted a longer relationship, but there was the old lady at home still in the way.

They dare not talk about how his new girlfriend was able to finance his divorce from the old wife, and the agreement with Mrs. McCain #1 about paying her medical bills for the rest of her life. Yeah, that was part of the divorce agreement. I guess that they had a non-disclosure agreement because she will not say anything bad about the man that did her so wrong.

Sure, there was a discussion about issues, but just because they have used it (family morals and values) as an issue before, doesn't mean that they are willing to have that debate now.

Not when it is the McCains vs. the Obamas.

It is a fight McCain cant win, ergo the right wing media ignoring the issue and their reporting today that the democrats didn't talk about any.
