if you live in a blue state....
... other than phone calls, what kind of work can you do to help in other states?

I live in NYC and I want to do some on the ground campaign work. I know I can make a ton of phone calls (and did during the primary) but I have a 6.5yo daughter who loves Obama, and I want her to be exposed to political action at an early age. My parents did it with me, and I'd like to expose her to it. We could do voter registration drive work here in NYC, but personally I'd like to go somewhere that needs the work more, a purple or red state. If you lived in NYS, would you go to PA or NH? And how do I get connected with the organizing work there when I don't know anyone? Should I go on Obama's website and put in a zip code and look for groups, or what?

Thanks for your help!

2. Well, if you feel like driving to New Hampshire for election day, ...
...we have a ton of work you can help out with! We'll be doing major-league
sign-holding around the state, GOTV (Get-Out-The-Vote) calling, poll-watching,
and all the other last-minute activities that we never have enough people for.

Plus, the weather's usually still pretty nice around that time and the farm
stands will have apple cider, cider doughnuts, left-over Halloween pumpkins,
and all those other old-New England trappings.

3. I live in MD and we are working hard in VA, PA and NC.
I'll be doing a lot of traveling over the weekend, stepping it up after the conventions.

We are working very, very hard!!

4. Let's keep this thread going; we red states LOVE outside help. I hate to say it,
but Arizona won't go blue with our "favorite" son as a candidate, but surrounding states like New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada have very good chances to go blue.

Not to mention lovely weather in the fall...

5. We're in MA, and heading up to NH next month
DUer Graywarrior is the Obama campaign Team Leader for Conway/N. Conway, so we'll be working with her. She might be able to put you in touch with people up there.

Good luck! :)
