What can we expect when Barack Obama is President?
I'm wondering...when Obama becomes President of the United States--what happens
to all of the horrible infrastructure and bad policies that were implemented
during the Bush nightmare?

What happens to the reported "explosion" of names on the terror watch list, that
clearly don't belong there?

What happens to our sickening torture policy?

Will FEMA really help people now, instead of being a stomping ground for Bush back-slappers
who could care less about people who endure natural disasters?

What happens to Guantanamo? Will it be shut down?

What happens to the illegal wiretapping that happens, with government officials circumventing
FISA...does all of this just stop?

What happens to Habeas Corpus? Do we get that back?

Will the EPA really protect the environment, instead of being stocked with pro-corporate
hacks from the oil and coal industry--who relax environmental regulations instead of
doing what is best for our water, air and forests?

What happens to the sickening language in the Patriot Act, which allows the government to
define a war protester as an "enemy combatant" which can ultimately lead to indefinite
detention without access to an attorney or a fair trial?

Will the FDA stop catering to the drug companies and focus again on the health and safety of the American
people?

I'm hoping that all of this changes. Will all of this really be reversed?

I have faith in Barack Obama and I know he will make changes. I guess I'm so used to
rampant corruption foisted on us by psychopaths.

I guess I'm having a difficult time believing that this nightmare is really coming to an end.

2. One major obstacle is the bush cronies infesting all corners of
government, currently.

3. That's one thing I wonder about...
There will still be psychopath neocons working at the Dept of Justice, NSA,
CIA, FBI, etc. Obama does get to instill major players in those organizations,
but you can't just sweep the place clean on day one. It takes a while.

I do think that there could be broad, sweeping changes in the FDA, EPA and
in the areas of education.

I think the remaining neocons will be underlings. There will be a new sheriff in
town, and if they don't capitulate--they'll eventually be gone.

I wonder how Obama will handle all of this. Will be change things quickly
or will this be a long, slow slog?

I guess these are all rhetorical questions, but I think it's important to
ask them.
