Observing DU from work all night on my laptop, I must say this...
JESUS!

You guys we're in full meltdown mode tonight!

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU.
WE ARE TRULY WHAT WE REPRESENT, A BIG BOUNCING BALL OF EVERYTHING THAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT.

This big blue board was running the whole gamut of emotions, sky high one moment, and frothing at the mouth the next.
One minute you were ready to tear the pundits to pieces, and the very next you were praising a well placed smack-down.
Earth, Wind and Fire rocked and David Gregory should have had rocks thrown at him.
Keith's "shovel" comment that sent Joe Scarborough to the corner to lick his wounds, and Maria's tear wipe.
Dennis kissed the ladies and Nancy's missed opportunity.
Caroline, sweet Caroline, who grew up in the same times that I did, and John Kerry always eloquent.
Teddy.
A wonderful video tribute, that showed his brothers taken from us in my lifetime, I could not wait to see it when I got home.
Teddy.
The stalwart Senator, miraculously striding to the stage and delivering a speech for the ages.

Tweety.
Chris Matthews who we love and hate and love again all in the span of just a few minutes.
CNN, the alleged "liberal" network, was hated tonight like at no other time since they first signed on the air decades ago.
A Code Pink thread that almost scorched through my meager laptop screen.
Norah O' Donnell, the Kirstie Alley of politics and Pat Buchanan racist mouth breather.
Rachel Maddow, so smart and so quick, go back and forth with her at your own peril, she is fearless.

I knew we were getting close to Michelle when the error messages started to increase.
We were at a "Spinal Tap" 11 because it was one more than 10.
I could not watch a minute because I was at work and I was busy pouring through hundreds of distracting e-mails.
Then the still unknown "men" and I use that term loosely, that were caught in a rented pickup with a bunch of meth and a sniper rifle.
I can't wait to find out how that story shakes out.
It's my experience that the words "meth" and "rented pick up truck" usually don't occur in the same sentence.

Craig Robinson, "I want you to meet my little sister".
Yeah, I have one of those too, and I love mine just like he loves his.
Michelle.
"I didn't see a ring on her hand" Barack said.
Michelle, who told an unlikely story, and who married an unlikely guy, and now may be poised to do the most unlikely of things.
The audience, most in tears as they listened, and then...
"What city are you in Daddy?' and "I love you Daddy"

Barack was in Kansas City which I just left after a decade to move for my job which I am trying desperately to keep.
Michelle, in Denver, another city I love, a city which I had my most sorrow and my most joy, a city I miss every day.

And now, having just watched on my DVR what you were commenting on hours ago, following along on my laptop, hard at work.
I say to all of you, you guys made my night.

D.U. my favorite community, filled with my favorite people, all I have to say is I love you guys.
Warts and all.
We were one tonight, and I'll be with you all on Thursday when we rock the house that my favorite football team plays in.
I've watched the Broncos play many a game in the new stadium (as I did the old one), and this is my most anticipated event there.

Thanks to the Mods who kept things flowing and thanks to all of my friends here.

I guess all that's left for me to say is...

"FIRED UP! READY TO GO"!

Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 01:29 AM by Froward69
I have traveled extensively. I have run from this city 1000's of miles... 8 days is the most I ever went until I missed my.. (excuse me.) OUR "one Cow town". that is Denver.

why did it have that nickname. long before "The Mile high City"? you ask?
A republican who kept a block in the middle of the city so his view of the mountains would not be obscured. Kept a cow on the block that was a pasture. (also he got a tax break as it was Agricultural land.) in 1908 the first Dem Convention came around and a national reporter from Chicago gave Denver that nickname.

Tonight we all are beginning to become one force in the Democratic overthrow of our government. It feels good.

excellent post... 10th rec

7. Thanks. That was such a wonderful summary of this
incredible night, where the torch was truly passed to a new generation of Americans, so beautifully represented by my HLS classmate Michelle Obama.

I love the Obamas, but Ted Kennedy represents everything that made me a Democrat when I heard him eulogize my boyhood hero, RFK. I cried shamelessly hearing the magnificent old lion roaring out his call to arms. It should have made every Democrat proud.

9. Beware the Chargers...again.
Putting that aside...we're, more or less, in agreement.

13. After last night, I thought C-Span was the only place to watch the convention.
After reading your post, I think DU might be have been better.
