Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 11:56 PM by Bleachers7
"The people outside or inside trying to divide the party do not speak for me. I'm Hillary Clinton. I'm support Barack Obama. And this is the only message I approve."

2. She needs to open a can of whoop ass on McCain, talk fondly about Obama, encourage her supporters to
vote for Obama...

Those three things.

5. RIP McCain, RIP McCAIN, RIP McCAIN
IMO, she HAS to unload a NUMBER of broadsides against McCain.

Fact is, for the first half of the primary, the runnup, Hill WAS running a positive campaign. But, once January hit and it became clear that BO was a real threat, she started attacking him, and the more in the hole she got, the more she attacked him.

She spent 5-6 months painting BO as the enemy, and even freakin endorsed McCain a couple times - the classic being the "I have passed the Commander in Chief bar, John McCain has passed the Commander in Chief bar, all BO has done is given a speech."

To these days, that STILL haunts BO.

It is a horse that has gotten out of the barn, and it really can't be brought back in.

What Hill HAS to do, is attack McCain. This does a couple things.

1) first and foremost, it cues her supporter that McCAIN is the enemy. It isn't good enough to just start saying nice things about BO, pols say A LOT of nice things about each other all the time. She needs to go after McCain and let her supporters know why he is the person they should not trust.
2) same thing with the media. They still are completely focused on her attacks on BO and are giving no airtime to her tacid positives. FACT IS, she really does not believe in BO, and there is nothing positive she can say about hiim that makes up for the negative things she has said about him. BUT, if she attacks McCain, THAT is what they will report.

Until she starts going after McCain, with real vigor, this will lie festoring.

11. Agree. She still hasn't attacked McCain as much as she did Obama
and the not attacking McCain is a dogwhistle.

We know that she can attack when she wants to. Time to do it. Past time.

14. ITTTTTA!!!! She needs to rip the living daylights into McCain
She needs to say why he would be such a terrible choice and make any of her holdouts feel idiotic if they vote for that nightmare.

ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

6. There is not much left for her to say...
She's already spreaded enough venom in the Primaries to carry over to 2012.

Everyone knows that anything she says will not be heart felt and anyone with an ounce of intelligence should
know this. There are SO-CALLED die-hard Hillary supporters that WILL NOT vote for Barack Obama
and not because they are staunch Hillary supporters and think the Primary was not legitimate - it's because they
are self-centered sore losers who put their own feelings first before the party and the country.

So what Hillary needs to say tomorrow is a MOOT point.

7. "I have blazed a path for women to reach the Presidency. Now it it time to insure my legacy by
acting honorably, admitting defeat with grace and moving forward with our nominee. The worst thing that can happen for the next female candidate is for my legacy to be tainted with division and disloyalty within our party. Clinton supporters are loyal Democrats. If you are not a loyal Democrat you are not really a supporter of mine."

something like that would be a start (not that I am a speech writer by any means)

8. This is not about what Hillary needs to say.
This is Obama's convention, Obama's responsibility to unite the party. Not Hillary's.

When is enough, enough?

I suppose that once more could not hurt...

...much.

I DO hope that both she and Bill will rip McWar a new one, however...

that if you are not a loyal democrat then you are not really a Clinton supporter.

How many more times does she need to say it???

Until every American hears it and believes it.

13. Again - she's said it quite a few times already.
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 07:42 AM by sourmilk
She's been saying it since June, but there are some people out there that are very bitter over the way they perceive that they have been treated - both by the DNC and the Obama campaign. They either just refuse to accept the message or would never vote for Obama, anyway.

I hope Obama wins this election. If he loses, however, it will not be the fault of the Clintons.

15. Sorry but it is not enough yet. Everyone has seen her comments during the primaries, not everyone
has seen her supporting Obama since june

You have, I have, others who follow closely have but most have not.

Sorry but there are consequences for actions. If those consequences are not convenient then that is just to bad. She needs to deal with it. She needs everyone to believe she wants Obama to win and not everyone is convinced yet.

If she isn't adult enough to handle this situation how the hell did she expect to be a good President?

16. Obviously, she will do what is required - as she has been doing...
Obviously, hubby will do the same. Enlightened self-interest may be one of their prime motives, currently. They aren't stupid, after all.

I don't expect much action from the Clintonista, if ANY. Clearly these PUMAs cannot get over the primaries and realise what's at stake RIGHT NOW.

17. She must repudiate her statement of the primary that all Obama has is a speech in 2002
and that he is fully capable of being commander in chief.

18. I wouldn't hold my breath.
It would be nice to see, though, just as it would be nice to see Biden eat some of his own Primary statements regarding Obama's lack of judgement and experience.

I think that it's important for all Democrats just to get past all this divisive GARBAGE. A united front is not only desirable but necessary for Victory in November...

There is no better person to be the harshest critic of McCain

I will be disappointed if the speech is all about her and her 18 million votes and what she accomplished in the campaign.

She needs to nail McCain and make anyone one of her voters who now say they will vote for McCain sound silly and like they are no friend to her
