Does anyone know if Joe Biden had to take out student loans for
for his kids, and if so, is he still paying them off? His daughter is only 26, so it's very possible. On the other hand, his wife works full time, so maybe they didn't need any loans.

Sen. Joe Biden's financial report as of June 2007.
Earned income: $185,700.

Honoraria, all donated to charity: $800.

Major assets: Bank accounts and life insurance policies, $19,000-$110,000; three bank accounts held jointly with his wife, $3,000-$45,000.

Major liabilities: Loan against life insurance policies, $15,001-$50,000; lines of credit, $114,002-$300,000; credit union note, less than $10,000.

2. They've been saying he took second mortgages on his home to
put the kids through college - I thought I heard he'd done that twice.

4. If Biden hadn't been in government all these years and didn't
have that pension to look forward to, he'd be as screwed as the rest of us. Good pick. Average guy who takes the train and has a minimum of houses and household staff.

7. No matter, he was a cheerleader for the 2005 Bankruptcy
bill and did the bidding of MBNA (now Bank of America) to the colossal detriment of overburdened consumers. Obama was 180 degrees from where Biden was on the bill which became law. Reconcile that!

12. Obama wants to reform the bankruptcy "reform" act.
Biden, if they are elected, will be as as conflicted on the issue as Hubert Humphrey was on the Vietnam War.

11. Tip: Start paying cash for the latest electronics instead of charging them.
As my dad said: If you can't pay for it, then you can't afford it.

The BT bill affects very few people. He is our strongest Senator on the environment and energy...that is FAR more important and affects EVERYONE in the country.

9. I heard on TV that his net worth is -$300,000 (that is a negative $300k)...
That means his debts exceed his assets. I assumed, though this may be wrong, due to second mortgage.
